GET CREATIVE WITH SMALL GROUP BEAD STRINGING WORKSHOPS

How many times have you spent too much time looking for the right piece of jewellery to complement an outfit and been unsuccessful? How many boxes of broken jewellery do you have stashed away?  How often have you wanted to buy jewellery gifts for friends and found the cost prohibitive?  By doing a three hour small group workshop, you’ll be able to make, fix and create beaded jewellery.

I’ve conducted hundreds of workshops over the years, when I ran Mayagems in Avalon.  My workshops are a place to make friends, have fun and discover your creative inner self.

Workshop timetables are by arrangement.  If you have a group of FOUR, choose your day and time.  If you’re on your own, you’ll be able to choose from several available dates.

Cost:  $70 for 3.5 hours.  Includes use of all tools and materials, but excludes silver and beads as their prices range from a few cents to much more – from seed beads to Yemeni silver.

Classes are self contained.  One class is all you need to complete a level.  If you’re a beading rookie, you’ll still have a finished piece by the end of the class.  If you’re a dab hand, there is always something more to learn. If you complete all levels, you’ll be able to participate in random free workshops where everyone gets together to show new tricks and learn from each other.

Workshop Levels:

1.  Basic bead stringing.

Learn the basics of design and the professional way to thread, add a clasp and finish your necklace/bracelet.

2. Wire wrapping.

Learn to make loops for pendants and earrings; you’ll make 3-4 pairs of earrings during the class.

3. Knotting.

Learn basic knots for silk and cotton threads, for interesting ways to separate beads.

4. Amulets.

Combine all three previous levels for truly inspiring pieces.
